The Wailers
Touching the lives of almost every living soul on earth since the 1960s, The Wailers are the most famous and successful reggae band the world has ever seen. With over 250 million album sales worldwide they’re a band that have influenced history, transcended generations and inspired millions to stand up for their rights. Don’t miss the unique opportunity to join hundreds of others tapping their feet to the staccato trumpet and chanting along to the wistful words of true reggae legends at Falmouth Sound.

The Wailers
Formed in 1969, Bob Marley’s backing band were later joined by producer Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s in-house bassist and drummer Aston ‘Family Man’ and brother Carly Barret. Considered one of the world’s greatest bass players, Family Man became the band’s musical director in the 1970s and, despite all the other original members passing over into the Rastafarian ether, the last bastion of the original reggae sound rolls on with ‘Fams’ at the helm.

Refusing to be seduced by the make-a-quick-buck culture of commercialism, Fams’ unfaltering dedication to his Kingston rock-reggae roots paid off when he became the musical mind behind cult album classic Exodus, the success of which paved the way for Marley to emerge as a global icon; an icon that still adorns the walls of students’ halls the length and breadth of the planet – four decades and counting.

Touching the hearts of many a nation, they were the first band to rock the reggae vibe in the sand-swept streets of Africa and the shimmering heat of the Far East. Born into the age of the civil rights movement, The Wailers’ sound is, and always will be, a universal one; the heartbeat of peace. Be part of the love revolution and join the Rasta ranks this summer at Falmouth Sound.
